In contrast, the complex or time-consuming process is the evaporation part to get the milk solids. It took me approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to get the result. Additionally, continue stirring; otherwise, it may stick to the bottom and eventually burn. There is no shortcut for this step, and you need to follow it until it solidifies.
Furthermore, I would like to highlight some of the tips, suggestions and variations to the milk peda recipe. Firstly, I would highly recommend using whole cream milk to achieve the best results. You may use skim milk, but you may end up getting fewer milk solids with the same quantity of milk. You may need to double the amount of the milk. Secondly, you can add any choice of flavours, including artificial flavours like vanilla, chocolate and even kesar. Lastly, please do not attempt to increase the flame; it should be one low to medium flame. If you try to evaporate at high flame, you may end up burning the pan.

Originally, Milk peda or commonly known as Doodh Peda, is believed to have originated from Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, but has gained massive popularity across all Indian states. It has a rich and creamy texture with a mouth-melting chewy feature. Most commonly, it is prepared for various festivals, but can also serve as an ideal sweet snack after a spicy lunch or dinner.
There are many types of Milk Peda recipes across India, and the authentic, creamy milk-based recipe is extremely popular. The other common way is to make it with flavours like vanilla, chocolate, mango, kesar and nut-based peda.
