Easiest Sheet Pan Gnocchi with Sausage and Broccoli – It’s the simplest meal in one made with just 6 ingredients! Includes a hearty starch, a rich protein and a nutritious veggie all cooked together on one sheet pan in a hot oven until lightly browned and the flavors have beautifully melded together.
Need a quick dinner or wondering what to make with that package of shelf stable gnocchi that needs to be used up that’s sitting in the pantry? This mouthwatering simple sheet pan gnocchi dinner has got you covered.
Busy people, meat lovers, cozy meal cravers, kids and adults alike – everyone loves this simple dish for so many reasons!
It’s prepped in a flash, you don’t need to pre-boil the gnocchi, and it doesn’t need any close tending to. Truly the oven really does most of the work.
If you’re looking to serve it with an extra side it would pair well with a side salad and a balsamic vinaigrette, or for even more heartiness you can’t go wrong with garlic butter slathered sourdough bread (I’ve been loving this recipe).
The Sheet Pan Dinner Recipe Ingredients
- Gnocchi: I use shelf stable gnocchi in this recipe. Refrigerated will work well to if you can find it.
- Broccoli: Only use fresh broccoli in this recipe not frozen as it would end up overcooked and mushy.
- Olive oil: You can use extra virgin olive oil or refined olive oil.
- Garlic: This adds lots of flavor, I recommend fresh garlic if possible.
- Salt and pepper: Season somewhat lightly then you can add more at the end as needed. The gnocchi and the sausage likely already have salt added.
- Italian sausage: This is raw pork sausage that is seasoned with Italian seasonings. You can use mild (sweet) or hot.
- Parmesan cheese: Use good quality parmesan for the best flavor, not the shelf stable stuff. Another good option is Romano cheese.
How to Make Sheet Pan Gnocchi with Sausage and Broccoli
- 1. Heat oven to 425 degrees. Spray a rimmed 18 by 13-inch baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray.
- 2. Place gnocchi and broccoli on baking sheet. Sprinkle with garlic, and season with salt and pepper. Drizzle evenly with olive oil and toss to coat. Spread mixture out even.
- 3. Break off 1-inch pieces of sausage and dot over gnocchi and broccoli.
- 4. Bake in preheated oven until sausage is cooked through and broccoli is slighty browned, about 20 minutes.
- 5. Remove from oven and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
Possible Variations
Other vegetables: This would also work well with other vegetables such as asparagus, green beans, cauliflower, bell pepper, or Brussels sprouts. You can also use a combination.
Alternate meat: Another option is to use raw Italian chicken or turkey sausage, or pre-cooked smoked sausage cut into coins for this recipe.
Gluten free: If you need a gluten free dinner use a gluten free gnocchi in place of the traditional white flour and potato gnocchi.
Storage and Reheating
Leftovers can be stored in the fridge (great for meal prep), for up to 3 days in an airtight container.
You can reheat on 50% power in the microwave or in a non-stick skillet with a little oil.
