The shocking part is that the demand from brides and grooms to sabotage their wedding is so high that Varea has bookings till the end of the year.

Just like wedding planners, we have “wedding destroyers” in the professional arena now. What started as a satirical online advertisement, paved the way for an unusual, bizarre but profitable business venture for Ernesto Reinares Varea. Varea is a self-described “wedding destroyer” who hails from Spain. The primary source of his income is sabotaging marriages in exchange for a sum of money. The shocking part is that the demand from brides and grooms to sabotage their wedding is so high that Varea has bookings till the end of the year.

Varea’s first advertisement read, “If you have doubts or don’t want to get married and don’t know how to refuse, don’t worry anymore, I’ll object to your wedding.” He was surprised to actually get requests from brides and grooms, which provoked him to establish this unconventional trade.

Varea’s technique of sabotaging the wedding is simple. All you need to do is inform him, the wedding destroyer about the time and place of the wedding. Calling himself one true love, he would object to the wedding and run away with the client for 500 euros (around Rs 47,000). That’s not all. He does not mind taking a punch or an angry lashing from family members involved in the process. But, here’s the catch. For every punch, you will have to pay an extra 50 euros, revealed Varea while speaking to Spanish news outlet Antena 3.

Varea’s services remain in high demand, with brides and grooms overflowing his chats with requests to sabotage their marriage. Interestingly, he has bookings lined up till December. “I have weddings scheduled until December,” Varea told Newsflash in another interaction.

Varea maintains professionalism and operates within the parameters of his client’s demands. His quirky job has gained the attention of many. As per reports, both co-hosts Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb while debating about Varea’s business on the Today show said they would not opt for the service. “No, because for free you can just say, ‘I want to break up,’” Bush Hager said, while Kotb added that it appears strange to have “the weird guy come in” to destroy the wedding.
