UK-based baker, Dayeeta Pal, recently left the internet confused with her fried chicken-shaped cake.

Imagine biting into what looks like a crispy piece of fried chicken, only to discover it’s actually cake. Viral videos of hyper-realistic cakes have taken a wild turn, leaving us questioning our taste buds and perceptions. These cakes are becoming so lifelike that they can trick even the most discerning eye, especially when they mimic foods that shouldn’t be sweet. The latest sensation? A fried chicken cake that’s turning heads and racking up nearly 13 million views. Created by UK-based baker Dayeeta Pal, who proudly calls herself a “Realistic Cake Artist,” this confectionery masterpiece has sparked awe and disappointment alike, as viewers grapple with yet another instance of sweet deception.

The video begins with what appears to be a perfectly plated, crispy piece of fried chicken, perfectly plated and ready to be devoured. An overlay text playfully poses the question, “Chicken or cake?”

And the moment of truth arrives as a knife slices through the piece, only to reveal that it’s not chicken at all, but a cake filled with chocolate and vanilla.

Dayeeta Pal kept the playful vibe alive in her caption, sharing a humorous tidbit: “Fun fact: My son was fuming this Crispy fried chicken was cake. I actually feel sorry (not) that he is stuck with a con-artist mum. He surely deserves better.”
