According to CBS, this knotting method was found on the ropes around the necks of victims discovered at his home on Summerdale Avenue, Norwood Park Township.

An old chilling clip on YouTube, uploaded about eight years ago, has resurfaced and has been going viral for its shocking and disturbing nature. The now-viral video reveals the horrifying technique John Wayne Gacy used to kill his victims after reportedly subjecting them to hours of torture.

In 1978, Gacy was apprehended and convicted of at least 33 murders in the Des Moines, Illinois area. Gacy, widely known as The Killer Clown, earned this notorious nickname for his performances at children’s hospitals under the persona of Pogo The Clown.

According to LadBible, after spending 14 years on death row, Gacy was executed by lethal injection at Stalle Correctional Center.

Before his execution on May 10, 1994, the 52-year-old took part in a CBS Special Report series, where he portrayed himself as a ‘loving and caring’ father and claimed to be a ‘misunderstood victim of circumstance.’ In one of the videos, Gacy demonstrated to journalist Walter Jacobson how he performed his signature rope trick to strangle his victims.

“The only knot I ever learned from Boy Scouts was a tourniquet knot,” Gacy said during the video. After attempting to show the technique on his own arm, Gacy convinced the interviewer to let him use his arm instead.

Gacy then secured the man’s forearm and tied the rope twice. He inserted a pen between the rope loops to tighten the knots, though he usually used a hammer handle for this purpose.

According to CBS, this knotting method was found on the ropes around the necks of victims discovered at his home on Summerdale Avenue, Norwood Park Township. The victims would sometimes convulse for up to two hours before losing consciousness and eventually dying, according to the YouTube video.

After viewing the disturbing footage, one YouTube user commented, “

Give me chills how he looks like an old dude you can easily think of as harmless and you can easily trust.” Another user wrote, “I can’t believe that reporter fell for that trick from that monster. That’s exactly how he did it to them. Trying to “teach” them how to do knots.” “Chilling how normal he seems. Chilling how he’s boasting about his killing method. Wow,” read a comment.

Following his heinous acts, Gacy reportedly stored his victims’ bodies in the crawl space of his home, while others were discarded in the Des Plaines River in Illinois.
