Kerala BJP chief acquitted in poll bribery case

KASARAGOD: The sessions court in the district acquitted K Surendran, BJP state president, and five others in the Manjeshwar election bribery case on Saturday. Surendran and the other five accused – K Manikanda Rai, BJP Kasaragod secretary, Suresh Naik, Sunil Naik from Yuva Morcha, K Balakrishna Shetty, former BJP district chief, and Lokesh Nonda – filed a discharge plea in Sept 2023 claiming the case was fabricated and politically motivated.TNN
