Hollywood screenwriter and director C Jay Cox, known for writing movies ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ and ‘Latter Days,’ was allegedly caught doing obscene actions with a minor boy in a sting operation organised by internet personality Vitaly.
Vitaly, posing as a 15-year-old boy, claimed he lured Cox to a residence under false pretenses, according to Brigada News Philippines. The encounter, filmed by Vitaly’s team, allegedly shows Cox making inappropriate remarks and gestures. Upon confrontation, a shocked Cox attempted to leave the scene.
A video of the incident was released on social media platform X by an account named Shadow of Ezra, along with the caption:
“Hollywood screenwriter C Jay Cox, known for films like Sweet Home Alabama and ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, has been exposed by streamer Vitaly in a shocking sting operation. Cox was caught entering the home of a boy he believed to be 15 years old, only to be confronted after engaging in inappropriate behavior.”
The video quickly went viral, prompting strong reactions from social media users and sparking calls for legal action.
One of the X users praised Vitaly for exposing the screenwriter, saying, “Damnnnnnnnnnnnnnn @vitalyzdtv you are a legend for this type of content. Keep exposing pedophiles one after another. The user demanded legal action against the screenwriter by tagging US Marshals Service, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and National Security Agency.
Another X user questioned, “Can anyone name someone in Hollywood who isn’t compromised?” One user also praised Vitaly’s dedication to acting as a minor, saying, “It’s awesome that he got caught, but that is some epic-level dedication by the guy pretending to be the minor.”
Cox and his representatives have not issued any public statements on the matter. Law enforcement officials have not commented on whether an investigation is underway.
Cox, born in 1962, is known for writing romantic comedies and films exploring themes of identity and acceptance. His most successful film, ‘Sweet Home Alabama,’ was a box office hit in 2002.
