Mumbai Indians
Mumbai Indians (MI) have a strong squad of Indian players, but their overseas signings for the upcoming season are unconventional. While the presence of Trent Boult and Mitchell Santner adds experience, the rest of their overseas contingent has been relatively untested in the IPL.
Players like England’s Will Jacks, Reece Topley, South Africa’s Lizaad Williams and Afghanistan’s Allah Ghazanfar have limited league experience. New Zealand’s Bevan-John Jacobs and South Africa’s Ryan Rickelton are making their IPL debuts, making MI’s depth an important area to watch.

The inclusion of young Afghan spinner Noor Ahmed completes their strategy. Now there are many all-rounders and fast bowlers in his team. CSK have also placed bets on players like Rahul Tripathi, Vijay Shankar and Kamlesh Nagarkoti in the hope of reviving their IPL careers.

For once, RCB’s batting and bowling units look balanced, reducing their historical reliance on a few star players.

They swapped Phil Salt and Mitchell Starc for Quinton de Kock and Anrich Nortje/Spencer Johnson, raising questions about whether this is a true upgrade. The surprise bids for Manish Pandey and Ajinkya Rahane also suggest a change in strategy for KKR, who traditionally favor aggressive batting styles.

Their lineup will see significant changes, with Prabhsimran Singh, Shashank Singh and Harpreet Brar possibly the only key holdovers from last season.

Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan Royals (RR) focused on bolstering their bowling attack by bringing in Jofra Archer, Wanindu Hasaranga and Mahesh Theekshana. However, the injury history of Archer and Hasaranga could test RR’s reliance on the Indian bench. Foreign reserves Kwena Mafaka and Fazalhaq Faruqi have been relatively low-profile, raising questions about their depth.
