In a video shared on Instagram, Usha Uthup’s version of Skyfall was met with praise. Her rendition of the Adele song first made waves at an event in 2013.

Nearly a decade after impressing music lovers with her unique spin on Adele’s Skyfall, renowned singer Usha Uthup has once again charmed her audience with a fresh performance of the popular track. This time, the legendary singer took the stage at an event titled Kinare Dariya held at The Denmark Tavern hotel in Kolkata. The performance was a delightful surprise for her fans, who were thrilled to see Uthup revisit her memorable rendition of the song.

Skyfall, originally recorded by global icon Adele for the James Bond film of the same name, was written by Adele and produced by Paul Epworth. Known for its powerful orchestration by J. A. C. Redford and Adele’s soulful vocals, this track has long been celebrated as one of the finest Bond themes. Uthup, with her powerful voice, brought a fresh flavour to the song, infusing it with her signature style and energy.

In a video shared on Instagram by Muse Musicworld, Uthup’s version of Skyfall was met with praise. The caption shared along with the video reads, “Usha Uthup brings her signature style to the stage with a stunning rendition of Adele’s ‘Skyfall’ at Kinare Dariya! Uthup’s rendition of Skyfall first made waves at an INK event back in 2013. Her recent rendition of Skyfall has set the internet ablaze, amassing over 12 million views within just a day of being posted. Fans were quick to flood the comment section with admiration for the singer.

One user shared, “She has magic in her voice,” while another added, “Giving me the vibe of the queen of voices, goosebumps.”

Someone else commented, “Need this version in Spotify so I can hear whilst I ride in the ped walk.”

Usha Uthup remains a musical icon, celebrated for her distinct voice that set her apart and established her a jazz pioneer for Indian cinema-goers in the 1970s. Some of her memorable tracks include Ramba Ho, One Two Cha Cha, Shaan Se, Koi Yahan Nache Nache and Hari Om Hari.

Earlier this year, Uthup’s remarkable contributions to Indian music were recognised when she was honoured with the prestigious Padma Bhushan, the country’s third-highest civilian award.
