NEW DELHI: Prolific batter Glenn Maxwell on Thursday achieved a significant milestone, becoming only the third Australian batter to surpass 10,000 runs in Men’s T20 cricket, following in the footsteps of David Warner (12411) and Aaron Finch (11458).

Maxwell, who scored a 19-ball 43 before being dismissed by Abbas Afridi, attained the feat during the rain-hit first T20I against Pakistan at the Gabba in Brisbane.

Overall Maxwell became the 16th batter on the list, led by Chris Gayle with 14,562 runs to his name in 463 games, to surpass the 10,000-run mark in T20s.
His explosive ability to score quickly and consistently has made him one of the format’s most valuable players.
Joining an elite group alongside Warner and Finch, Maxwell’s latest achievement underscores his remarkable contribution to T20 cricket and cements his place in history.
