Ernst & Young (EY), one of the ‘Big Four’ consultancy firms, has integrated metaverse elements from Web3 into their recruitment process. The London-based firm, which also has offices in India, has launched a service called eVe, which essentially offers pre-interview preparation for candidates applying for a position in the company. The purpose of this service is to help job applicants gather information about do’s and don’ts before attending personal interviews.
eevee platform Allows job seekers to connect with an AI avatar of an EY associate. The avatar can be seen in a metaverse setting against a photorealistic background that looks like an EY office.
The avatar, which currently only supports the English language, prompts visitors to ask their questions around the interview process at EY.
“You can ask me detailed questions about interview preparation and health benefits at EY. For interviews, you can inquire about behavioral interviews, technical interviews or case studies. If you have any specific question in mind, feel free to ask,” says the digital assistant.
It explains how people can navigate through finding and applying for job opportunities at a firm that has recorded a estimated Global revenue in 2024 to be around $51 billion (about Rs 4,29,796 crore).
People can ask eVe about EY’s compensation benefits, pension plans and other related follow-up questions.
It is worth noting that EY’s digital avatar does not yet offer virtual tours of EY offices. However, it does save the chat records for users to revisit the notes shared by the AI assistant. The company has shared an email ID directed to its ‘Metaverse Lab’ unit for people to report any complaints regarding the platform’s service.
according to a report By Business Insider Candidates who apply for jobs at EY are sent a link to eVe, where they can find detailed answers to frequently asked questions related to the interview process. The report said that the eVe platform was subjected to intensive testing for months before launching it. Citing the global lead of EY’s Metaverse Lab, the report said that young job applicants are spending an average of 15 to 20 minutes interacting with EY.
according to a blog post By EY, its Cognitive Human Enterprise team is creating a virtual world.
“With the market projected to reach $800 billion (approximately Rs 67,42,664 crore) in two years, the metaverse has the power to transform all industries. Organizations that address innovation capability now will be well-positioned to harness the opportunities it will bring,” the blog notes.
