With the registration process for admission to Nursery, KG and Class 1 starting from Thursday, private unaided recognized schools in New Delhi have uploaded the admission criteria on their websites.

Distance from the school, siblings studying in the same school, alumni parents, staff ward, or girl child are some of the determinants that will help children secure points for their admission. Admission criteria and points awarded vary from school to school, but neighborhood, parents of alumni, and siblings are some common factors. Cambridge School Srinivaspuri, one of the top co-ed day schools in Delhi, also offers points for linguistic inclusion, which means that a student with a native language from the North-Eastern states, Western or Southern states will be given 20 points.

The age criteria must also be met to ensure that the ward is eligible for admission. According to the Directorate of Education, the minimum age of the candidates seeking admission in Nursery, KG and Class 1 should be at least three, four and five years as on March 31 respectively and the upper age limit is fixed at four years, five years respectively. And six years respectively.

Parents can submit a request for age relaxation up to a difference of 30 days from the maximum and minimum age limits for admission to nursery class.

Most of the schools have given utmost importance to proximity to the school. For example, Summerfields Public School has a total of 113 open seats available, admission can be secured with 10 marks for girl or first child, 65 marks for up to 5km, 40 marks for those living between 5 and 10. Could. Km and 30 points for those living more than 10 km. Alumni parents can have their child earn 15 points, while siblings can earn 10 points.

Ambience Public School has allotted 40 points for radial distance more than 6 km, 30 points for siblings in the school and 20 points for parents of alumni.

Indian School, Delhi has 156 seats at preschool level for general category. In this, 20 marks will be given to the first born child, 60 marks for distance from school and 20 marks will be given to those whose siblings study in school.

At Bluebells School International, there are 77 general seats in Pre-Primary, out of which a child can secure 50 points for proximity. The school noted that points are allocated based on existing junior school bus routes and are based on address, not locality.

Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar, will give 30 marks to the first born child and 20 marks to the second born child. For siblings, alumni parents and staff ward criteria, 10 points each can be earned. 50 marks will be allotted within a distance of 4 km from the school.

Mother’s International School, Sri Aurobindo Marg has 60, 10 and 13 open seats available for Pre-School, Pre-Primary and Class 1 respectively.

Vasant Vihar and East of Kailash wings of Delhi Public School have 108 and 90 open seats available at nursery level respectively. For admission to Class 1, there are 18 open seats in DPS East of Kailash. DPS RK Puram will award a maximum of 95 marks with 50 marks depending on proximity – Radial distance up to 6 km – 50 marks, 6.1 to 8 km – 40 marks, 8.1 to 15 km – 30 marks, 15.1 to 20 km – 20 points, and a sibling – 25 points.
