It’s been five months since the 18th Lok Sabha took over but some of the new MPs are still not able to move into their official residences as the old ones have not vacated them. Congress party’s young face and Ludhiana MP Amarinder Singh Raja Waring seems to be in no mood to wait any longer. Tired of former Union minister Satyapal Singh repeatedly asking officials to vacate his residence on Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Marg, Waring has now decided to stage a protest in front of the main gate of the house, demanding what he says. He was allotted five months ago. He says that he will be joined by some other MPs who are struggling to move into the residences occupied by former MPs.

At an event organized by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to commemorate 75 years of the adoption of the Constitution, a quiz competition on various aspects of the Constitution livened up the proceedings. The competition was conducted by two Social Defense volunteers and 10 teams participated. Amit Yadav, secretary of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, played the role of referee during the quiz, while cabinet minister Virendra Kumar and his colleagues – MoS Ramdas Athawale and BL Verma – cheered the participants.

Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora recently found that several senior officers of Delhi Police, from DCP to ACP rank, were not attending the Advance Security Liaison (ASL) meetings regarding the Prime Minister’s events. Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit ShahHe issued instructions that the concerned DCP/Additional DCP should compulsorily be present in the ASL meetings organized by SPG in connection with the programs of PM Modi. Similarly, ACPs of sub-divisions should participate in ASL meetings in connection with the programs of Home Minister Shah. Also, the security unit should depute at least one officer of DCP and ACP rank for ASL.
