Change in timing of Guard of Honor ceremony from November 30: Rashtrapati Bhavan. delhi news


According to an official statement, the raising of the guard ceremony in the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan will be shifted to winter time from this Saturday.

The Changing of the Guard ceremony is a military tradition held each week to mark the assumption of charge to a new group of the President’s bodyguards.

A statement issued by the President’s Office said, “The Guard of Honor ceremony will take place in the courtyard of Rashtrapati Bhavan from this Saturday (November 30) during winter time i.e. between 9 am to 10 am.”

The President’s Body Guard (PBG), established in 1773, is the senior most regiment of the Indian Army. It is a regiment performing ceremonial duties for the President of India.

PBG personnel are excellent horsemen, capable tank men and paratroopers.
