NEW DELHI: Rajasthan Bharatiya Janata Party chief Madan Rathore made controversial sexist remarks on Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) MP Hanuman Beniwal’s wife saying that he will benefit if Kanika Beniwal loses the Khinvsar assembly bypoll as she can then be at home and take care of their children.
Rathore referenced social media posts where Hanuman Beniwal expressed concerns about his wife potentially returning to her peehar. He questioned Beniwal’s decision to field his wife in the bypolls despite apparent apprehensions, PTI reported.
The BJP chief continued his remarks by stating that a loss would be beneficial for Hanuman Beniwal, as his wife could then attend to their children’s needs, regardless of whether she stays at her parent’s house or elsewhere.
He further questioned the practicality of both spouses being involved in politics, emphasising the importance of maintaining family responsibilities and household duties.
Additionally, Rathore criticised the Congress party, pointing out that several of its prominent leaders, including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and P Chidambaram, were conducting political activities whilst out on bail following various legal cases.
