Trump Jr., the eldest son of President-elect Donald Trump, has revealed that Republicans are planning to open the doors of White House press briefings to more independent journalists and social media influencers and restrict some mainstream media journalists.
In his podcast ‘Trigger With donald trump Junior’, Trump Jr. was asked daily wire Political commentator Michael Knowles related to traditional media “if it were time to snatch up seats”.
“I’m wondering now, as your father is gathering his team, like maybe (incoming White House press secretary) Carolyn Leavitt is looking at the new press briefing room chart, maybe rearranging that chart. It’s time to do that and maybe snatch some people’s seats away, Knowles said, according to The Independent.

Trump Jr. claimed he was breaking the news at that point and said, “Because I literally had this conversation… I was on the plane with my dad. And we were in the podcast world and some of our friends and Rogan and you. Like the people we were talking about, we talked about opening press rooms for many of these independent journalists.

The president-elect has also been known to place restrictions on journalists in the past as CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta was stripped of his White House pass in 2018 during Trump’s first term as president.
Trump Jr. further said on his podcast, “If the New York Times has lied, they’ve been avoiding everything, they’ve been working as a marketing arm for the Democrat Party, why not open it up to those people? “Who has a bigger audience, stronger following?”
